Developer Pack
A Developer Pack gives your organization a free daily allowance on the models we run on our own GPUs in Egypt, for a set price and a set number of days. Every other model stays available at the standard pay-as-you-go rates.
Each pack's price, length, daily amount, models and limits are shown on its card under Dashboard → Billing → Plans and on the Pricing page. They can change over time; those pages always show the current ones.
Buy a pack
- Open Dashboard → Billing → Plans.
- Under Developer Packs, choose Buy on the pack you want.
- Check the price, the length and what you get every day. Tick Renew automatically if you want it to renew (see Auto-renew).
- Choose Buy for … EGP.
The pack starts at once. Today's full allowance is yours right away and appears within a minute.
Things to know before you buy:
- Only the organization owner can buy a pack, from the dashboard. An API key can't buy one.
- A pack is paid from your balance, any credit: money you topped up, and promotional credit too (the welcome bonus, coupons, referral rewards and other bonus credit), which is spent first. Credit held by requests that are still running counts once they finish. If your credit is short, the dialog shows how much more you need and links to Top up.
- You pay the price you saw. If the pack's price or length changes while you're buying, nothing is charged and you're asked to confirm the new terms.
- One pack at a time. While a pack is running, you can't buy another one. Cancel it to let it end, then buy again.
How long a pack runs
A pack starts when you buy it and ends at the same time of day, Cairo time, after its number of days. For example, a 30-day pack bought at 15:00 on 1 March ends at 15:00 on 31 March. Your pack's card shows its end date.
When the pack ends without renewing, your organization goes back to the plan it had before.
Auto-renew
Auto-renew is off unless you tick it when you buy. You can turn it on later under Plan details on the Plans page with Turn auto-renew on, while pack sales are open and the pack is still sold. Turning it off is how you cancel a pack.
- When a pack renews, we charge the pack's current price from your balance, and the new term starts right where the old one ended.
- If the price went up or the pack got shorter, it doesn't renew. We email you, and you can buy it again at the new terms.
- If your balance doesn't cover the renewal, we keep trying for a short while (at most an hour, and never past midnight Cairo time). Then the pack ends, your organization goes back to its previous plan, and we email you.
- A few days before a pack's end date, we email the organization owner a reminder, whether auto-renew is on or off. Packs that last only a few days get no reminder.
Cancel a pack
Under Plan details on the Plans page, choose Cancel plan and confirm. Cancelling turns auto-renew off:
- The pack stays active until its paid end date and time, and nothing more is charged.
- Unused days are not refunded.
- When it ends, your organization goes back to the plan it had before, or to your Student plan if that is still running.
- Changed your mind? Choose Turn auto-renew on any time before the end, while pack sales are open and the pack is still sold. It then renews as before, unless its price went up or it got shorter (see Auto-renew).
Only the organization owner can cancel a pack.
The daily allowance
Every day, Cairo time, your organization gets the pack's daily amount to spend on the pack's models. The amount is in EGP. Its card shows it as an approximate number of tokens at each model's standard prices, assuming 3 input (prompt) tokens for every output (reply) token. With several models, they share one allowance: each request uses it at its own model's price.
- Requests to the pack's models are paid from the day's allowance first. It renews at 00:00 Cairo time, and what you don't use doesn't carry over.
- When the day's allowance is used up, by default those models are charged
to your credit balance at standard rates. With no balance, they answer
402 daily_allowance_exhausteduntil the allowance renews. - The organization owner can turn that off on the Plans page: switch off
Use balance automatically.
The pack's models then stop once the day's allowance (and any model credit
for them) is used up, answering
402 daily_allowance_exhausteduntil 00:00 Cairo time, and your balance is never charged for them. Other models aren't affected. Switch it back on to go back to paying from your balance. - Just after you buy, today's allowance can take up to a minute to appear.
If you have no balance in that minute, or paying from your balance after
the allowance is turned off, a request answers
402 daily_allowance_pending: retry shortly. - Every other model is charged to your balance as usual. Image generation never uses the allowance.
- The allowance runs only on our own GPUs. If they can't take the request,
it answers
503 allowance_capacity_unavailableinstead of moving to another provider.
Where to see what's left
- Dashboard → Billing → Plans shows Today's free allowance: what's left, in tokens and EGP, and when it renews.
- The dashboard header shows about how many tokens are left today.
GET /v1/creditsreturns adaily_allowanceobject (nullwhen your plan has no allowance):
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
issued | false until today's allowance has been granted |
daily_allowance_egp | The daily amount, in EGP |
left_egp | What's left today, in EGP |
resets_at | When the allowance renews (next 00:00 Cairo time, as a UTC timestamp) |
models | The models the allowance pays for |
approx_daily_tokens | The daily amount in tokens on the first model in models only, assuming 3 input tokens per output token; null when that model has no price. See approx_by_model for every model |
approx_tokens_left | The same estimate for what's left today, on the first model only |
approx_by_model | The same two estimates for each model in models, in the same order: a list of objects with model, approx_daily_tokens and approx_tokens_left. The models share one daily amount and each request uses it at its own model's price, so each model has its own figures |
program_ends_at | When the packs end for everyone, if we've announced it; otherwise null |
balance_fallback | true (the default) when your balance pays for these models once the day's allowance is used up; false when the owner turned that off, so they stop until the allowance renews |
The pack's limits
Each pack's card lists its limits. They apply on the pack's models, whether the allowance or your balance pays. Every other model keeps your account's normal limit for each API key, as without a pack.
- Requests per minute are one budget shared by your whole organization,
across all your API keys, on top of each key's own limit. Past it, requests
to the pack's models answer
429 rate_limit_exceeded; other models are not affected. - Requests at a time. Past the limit, a request answers
429 concurrency_limit_exceededwithRetry-After: 2. - Reply length. A larger
max_tokensis lowered to the pack's limit, and the response carries anX-Plan-Output-Capheader with the limit used. - Prompt length. A longer prompt answers
400 prompt_too_long_for_plan. - One reply per request.
nabove 1 answers400 n_not_supported_on_plan. - Shared capacity. The free allowance runs on GPUs shared by every
Student and Developer plan. At busy times a request can be refused with
429 allowance_capacity_busyandRetry-After: 5: retry after a few seconds, or use a pay-as-you-go model.
See Rate Limits and Error Codes for the details.
With the Student plan
On the Student plan you can upgrade to a Developer Pack: choose Upgrade to Developer Pack on the Plans page, or Upgrade on the pack you want. This works too when our team set up your Student plan. While the pack runs, its allowance replaces your Student allowance; the two don't add up. Your Student plan waits underneath: if it is still running when the pack ends, you go back to it.
If we pause or end the packs
- Sales paused. We can pause new purchases at any time. Packs already bought keep running, and auto-renew keeps working.
- End of the packs. If we stop offering a pack, we email you at least 30 days before its last day. From the announcement, the pack is no longer sold or renewed, and nothing more is charged. A pack you've paid for runs to its paid end date. After that, your organization goes back to the plan it had before.
